Kirsten Skovbon. A path to personal home / Droga do własnego stylu
– Jest mój.
– What is your interior style?
Simple and straight answer, isn’t it? The path to grasp your unique style is so interesting, sometimes surprising. And it can give a lot of fun and satisfaction. I strongly believe in it. Hence I’m very excited to show you more closely a person, who succesfully completed her path. Especially as the base is a well known modern scandinavian design.
Kirsten Scovbon, as she is the one I’m talking about, lives in Denmark and the Danish design is very familiar to her. As she mentioned to me, she likes its light colors, straight lines, simple but good materials. She adds however: „I’m not a fun of Danish” because it’s too ordinary and cold. Hence she adds boho accessories, which introduce the coast, warmth, nature and ethnic patterns. But again Kirsten stresses: „I’m not a fan of bohemian alone” as it’s too „messy”. At the end you will at het house a perfect mix of these two styles. „I can create a very personal home and I’m never in that situation that I wonder if I was going through the wrong door and entered my neighbors door. For me it’s very important to create a personal home and not a cataloge!”
I asked Kirsten what inspires her. Well, travels always teach a lot. In her case influence: „Our favorite vacation destination is the Maldives – and here I’m inspired by the understated luxury. The simplicity – the nature. No sparkling gold luxury but a very calm and beauty kind of luxury„. She explored the colonial style in Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia and loved the decor. However not all of them but these generic natural ones. After vacations she creates the same vibes at home mixing the minimal modern design with accessories from the Far East: „Suddenly you have a very personal home”.
I chose from hundreds of Kirsten’s foto these which in the best way will show you how she combines the scandinavian simplicity with distant travel memories. Her house is like a guidepost for may interiors full of IKEA or Doctor House furniture. It guides to unique home style. I think you will like to follow this path, especially where you can find such sweet quotes: „Home is where your blankets are” or „I admit it: I got cushion-mania, blanket-mania and basket-mania”.

I think it’s fantastic that Kirsten decided to open an e-shop for EU clients, where you can pick up some curated items: skovbon. The mission of this place is „I want for my webshops custumers: to have the oppurtunity to create a personal home, with handpicked items”.
Życzę jej powodzenia w tym przedsięwzięciu. Szczególnie, że faktycznie dekoracje z dalekiej Azji zostawiają niezatarte wrażenie.
I which her good luck with this new adventure. Especially that I can also admit that decor from Asian places is stunning.
